With the new rugby season fast approaching Gentian has renewed its long-standing partnership with Winchester Rugby Football Club for a further four years.

We are pleased to announce that on 3rd June we received full planning permission for a circa 11,000sqft industrial building and a 2,940sqft drive thru unit (including bakery) at our site at Buckmore South in Petersfield.

We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of 51-55 Above Bar Street in Southampton, a prime retail investment let to HSBC Bank Plc and Greggs Plc. The site comprises two retail units totalling 13,811sqft (1,283sqm) arranged over the basement to second floors and is located on the prime pedestrianised section of Above Bar Street adjacent to West Quay Shopping Centre. We were delighted to support Fairthorn Consultancy by sponsoring The Central South Property Lunch Club. Hosted by Winchester City Council Leader, Councillor Martin Tod at the stunning Ivy restaurant, the lunch provided an opportunity to network with some of the leading property businesses across the South.

We've recently added to our High Street property portfolio with the purchase of 17-18 High Street in Chipping Norton which we bought for just under £1m. The 5,220sqft (485sqm) building is majority let to Books UK Ltd on a 5 year lease expiring July 2025 and includes a three bedroom maisonette above the pharmacy.

Gentian has received Reserved Matters Approval for a 4,730sqm (50,000sqft) urban logistics park located just off the A3 at Petersfield, Hampshire.

Last weekend we sponsored a Gig-Arts Event in Brize Norton where we have recently built a new retail centre for Mid-Counties Co-op and Greggs.

Winchester-based Gentian has been making improvements to its Winchester High Street portfolio. Recent work has included spending £42,000 on external works to Mountain Warehouse. The Fat Face building has also been fully refurbished, at a cost of £225,000. Gentian has also agreed to remove a 2024 tenant break in Fat Face's lease which secures the lifestyle brand's High Street occupation for 5 more years.

Winchester-based Gentian Developments, who have investments across the UK, are operating as the local lead in a consortium purchasing the Brooks Shopping Centre in the city. Contracts were exchanged last week, and completion is expected imminently, conditional upon approval from Winchester City Council.

We are pleased to have completed a 10-year reversionary lease with Wilkin & Sons Limited to commence in April 2023, when their current lease expires. Wilkin & Sons has been in occupation at 70 High Street since assigning the lease from Costa Coffee in 2019 and they have been a popular addition to Southwold. We look forward to working with them for a further 10 years.‍

We are pleased to announce the sale of one of our retail assets, 26 The Square in Winchester, to a local investor. Gentian purchased the building in 2015, which was let in its entirety to Hays Travel for a term of 15 years from 2011.

We are pleased to announce the sale of one of our retail assets, 3 Castle Street in Farnham. Gentian purchased the building in 2015 before undertaking a full refurbishment to provide a ground floor retail unit and two high-end residential units at the rear and first floor level. The retail unit was let to Gail's Ltd for a term of 15 years and the residential parts were sold on a long-leasehold basis for 125 years.

We are pleased to have completed a 10-year reversionary lease with SSP to commence in February 2023, when their current lease expires. SSP has been in occupation since 2011 when the main entrance concourse was completed and we look forward to working with them for another 10 years. As part of the deal, SSP has committed to undertaking a refurbishment of the store later this year to incorporate the new M&S branding and updated product range.‍

Winchester-based Gentian Developments who have investments across the UK, have completed another successful purchase of a prominent Winchester High Street retail space. Gentian Developments purchased 28 High Street for £1.8m from a Jersey based company. This 3,250 sq ft building is part of Gentian's ongoing investment into Winchester's retail offering.

Gentian Developments and their joint venture partners Sunny Day Trading have completed the purchase of 6.1 acres of industrial land at Buckmore Park. The site in Petersfield is next to the junction of the A3 and A272.

Gentian Development Group has appointed Alex Hirst as its new Retail Director. Alex joins Gentian from Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) where he spent five years in the retail agency team. Prior to this he worked for Lidl as a Senior Acquisition Consultant and in the agency team of Goadsby.
