Gentian initially held the headlease on retail space at the North entrance at Tameside Hospital, before acquiring the headlease in the new PFI-developed Hartshead Shopping Mall at the south entrance. Gentian surrendered their original accommodation back to the Trust to be reassign for non-retail use.
What we did
In 2011, Gentian acquired a new 30-year headlease on the retail and café units at the south entrance, direct from the Trust, before sub-letting the units to Compass, trading as Costa Coffee and Amigo.
Gentian’s inhouse estates team manage the retailer’s occupation including collecting the rents and service charges and taking all financial and operational risks associated with the space.
